There's no place like home!

Sandy's home!  I just spoke with her and she sounds strong and in good spirits.  She is very happy to be home and just needs to rest.  All went well with test results, preliminary reports indicate the surgeon was able to remove all cancer cells with the hysterectomy.  All reports and findings will be sent to an oncologist (cancer specialist) for a final review and determination.  That seems like a real good idea.

I'll post again tomorrow.

Groggy with Chance of a Shower

Richard is reporting that Sandy got up and walked today.  She was able to take a shower too.  She is still a bit groggy.  We are still waiting for test results and I'll post when new info arrives.

Moving on up...

I just spoke with Robert and he reported that Sandy was moved to a regular room around 6:30pm last night.  So she is doing well enough the medical staff didn't think she needed constant care.  Sandy is still agitated and not talking much - this is normal considering the type of anethesia she had and the additional antibiotics they used.  So tomorrow will probably be the day we first start hearing from Sandy so keep saying your prayers and sending good positive thoughts for a quick recovery.

Tuesday Afternoon Update

Sandy is still doing well.  She has only authorized Richard to visit her in the hospital - no other family members are permitted to visit.  She will be sedated for most of the next 24 hours.  Sandy told me before her surgery that the hospital nursing staff usually keeps a very close eye on her right after surgery.  They do this because of her previous heart condition and procedures.  Sandy said this extra attention by the nurses results in them poking and prodding her every hour or so and she gets very agitated.  So please understand that is why she doesn't want visitors.  Say prayers for her and send your positive thoughts.  She will call me when she is ready and I'll post another update.

All is Well...

Sandy's surgery went well this morning.  She was out of surgery by 9:30am and the Doctor said all went well.  Sandy is resting now and I'll keep you updated on her progress.

Surgery Day

Tuesday 9/21/10 is surgery day for Sandy.  She is the first procedure scheduled for the morning so at least there will be no hanging around and thinking about how hungry and thirsty you are.  I spoke with Sandy today and she is eager to get the surgery over with and move on with her recovery.  Say your prayers and let's send Sandy some really positive thoughts.

See you here tomorow!

It's a Good Day

I spoke with Sandy earlier today and she is feeling really well and very happy that things went so easy yesterday.  I won't be posting here everyday until the real surgery gets scheduled.  It is tentatively on the books for the late part of September but Sandy is hoping it will get moved up.  So thanks again for your good thoughts and prayers, see you soon!
